Since last September or so, Logan has been sleeping in a toddler bed that's some sort of heirloom from my family. My dad and his siblings slept in it, I probably slept in it when I was very young staying at my grandparents, and Logan's cousins used it too when they were around his age.
I don't know how old it is, I believe my great grandfather built it from old barn doors. It's terribly heavy and has high sides. My mum painted it blue with white rabbits before it was passed on to my sister, so that it was freshened up a little before Logan's cousins slept in.
My parents transported it all the way from France in their car when they came to Scotland to meet Logan shortly after he was born.
As I said earlier, it has high sides which is great for a toddler. The only issue with it is whenever Logan needs the toilet when in bed, we must go and help him out of the bed.
Or had to.
This morning, he's come out by himself and walked to our (open) door waiting for us to come out and help him! All of a sudden we realised he can now GET OUT OF HIS BED ON HIS OWN!
The next step will now be to get him to go to the toilet on his own, and most importantly, go back to his bed until we say it's time to get up! That's going to be a tough job...
And we're going to have to close our bedroom door!
Below a small collection of Logan's funny sentences:
Travelling somewhere in the car, I hear from behind me:
"I like eating bogeys"
Waking up one morning:
"I fight monsters with Boog* with lightsabers"
* Boog is the big bear from the Open Season franchise
Watching The Voice on TV, when a lady contestant walks onto the stage:
"She's beautiful" - what?? where did that come from??
Putting stars on his reward chart:
"I'm a well behaved boy!""
